We’re keeping the Fair Trade Month love (and free stuff!) going, with the third week of giveaways!

If you haven’t heard, October is Fair Trade Month! An in an effort to collaboratively celebrate, we’ve decided to bring you an entire month of giveaways–a new one each week.

Hey, we need your help! We’re getting ready to place orders with our co-ops for the Spring ’15 collection, which means deciding which styles move forward into production. We’ve worked hard for over a year now to develop the collection and we’ve got a lot of great prints and cuts. But we need objective opinions to help weed out the duds and identify the standouts. No lengthy discussions here; the new collection will be hung around the room, and participants will rate each style.

Hi, all. You might have heard by now, but we’ve ventured up to the land of milk and beer. We’ll be at Summerfest in Milwaukee for the next almost-week, and we’d love to see you!

You might remember when this happened a couple years ago, but it happened again. Mata Traders was on NPR!

We had a booth in Daley Plaza, right here in Chicago, for the World Fair Trade Day event. There were lots of vendors, several people spoke, and WBEZ’s Worldview with Jerome McDonald was recording live, so Maureen was on the radio!

You may have noticed from the (ware)housewarming party invites that we recently moved into a new space! It’s more than double the size of our old office/warehouse so we’ve been itching to fill it with people and celebrate!

We know you’ve been waiting for it: that first big summer holiday, a day off, a day where BBQs and boats and beaches and beers and buddies of all sorts convene and have a glorious day of celebrating America’s independence. It’s the best, and we want to make sure you look your best.

Yesterday Forbes posted an article on the importance of women in the future of ethical fashion. The author writes about women as power players in the effort to make the garment industry more transparent, suggesting that an increase of female leaders would directly impact this goal.
